LEFTON RESIDENCE

Lefton
Woodstock, NY
1975

The owner wanted a year-around house on a site located about three miles from the center of the village of Woodstock. They wanted it designed for themselves, an occasional guest, and with no plans for children. The new house was to accomodate existing furnishings that the client owned. The architect located the house on the highest point, of the three acre site, and arranged the two-story living areas to the south which offered the best views and exposure to the winter sun. The house is accessed by a drive located along an existing rock wall. The clients have made decoration changes in the dozen years of occupancy. Still today, they have told me that they love it.
